Good take on the matter Bill. I completely agree with everything you said except for the fact that they will not make the playoffs. I mean all this team really needs is to get some chemistry and discipline back into there game and they can come back. They just got to stop trying to go goal-for-goal with better teams because they will loose almost every time.

You watch. After this extended time off, they will be back a better team and competing again. You will see a lot more of the team in that first game in Montreal. But it will come at the expense of this Saturday.

Here is the first part of my message which was missed. Adding toughness to a team can work only when it compliments an already strong and successful offense. Guys like Komisarek are working and doing what they can, but without a successful offense, when using a "tough" style of play, the result is ultimately frustration, a lack of discipline and penalty minutes. Opposing teams have recently been feeding off of this concept. Leafs can only hope that when guys like Kessel get back, there can be a jolt of much-needed offense and eventual confidence. I'm not sure if Kessel can provide the leadership required, however, right now he is their only hope. The guys currently on the ice are not leadership material and regardless of what coaching/management preach, progress will be minimal. Good luck Mr. Burke - I hear antacid is cheaper by the case - you have a very long season in front of you.

Thanx, Bill.
