Thank, Mark. If Mills wasn’t here and wasn’t so popular, more people who have signed off on this move. Pritchard was trying to replace Blake, but with the play of Rudy and Batum especially, they didn’t need another guard. Clearly, as the game against Denver showed, a big man would have been a better choice. Just someone to stop the layup drills. Camby can be that can, but they needed to get a solid backup.

I don’t think Diener has a ton of supporters in Portland. It’s not his fault though, he’s just come along at a bad time.

Thanks, Cameron. Yeah, I understand your disagreement. I just always saw Blake as the kind of guy who could weather a storm and get the team back on track. But, yes, it is most likely attributed to tired legs. They have played the most games in the league so far.

Yeah, Blake sure has been missed. Yet, though Bayless has had a few good games, his jumper is woefully inconsistent, and when it’s off, he’s far too one-dimensional. The duo of Bayless and Roy may work for the rest of the season, but unless Bayless shows he can do more than just drive and hit the occasional jumper, Portland will miss Blake’s presence and dependability as a backup pg.

Nick,
This is a great recap, but I disagree with your mention of “the effects of the departure of Steve Blake.” While I do think that Portland has missed Blake in some games, I don’t think it’s quite fair to point to his departure as the cause of Portland’s dead offense with their bench unit in this particular game.
Instead, I think it can be more attributed to the fact that the Blazers are tired. They were playing their 4th game in 5 nights. As you said, the first half looked sluggish.
That being said, I do think that Blake has been missed since the trade, but Roy and Bayless have done a good job of filling the void.

Yeah, it was a great game. Blazers fans show up everywhere. The following is amazing. It was a tough loss, but great win for you, though.

I thought there was no way that shot would rim out. But somehow it did. Portland couldn’t capitalize, however.

It was a great game. I was surprised how many blazers fans were in the building. Some guy was up in the 300 level with a horn. I couldn’t believe that ball didn’t go in at the end of regulation
