Raiders Pigeon

Only two of six injured players remain out for Oakland’s least watched game on television this Sunday. Outside linebacker Ricky Brown, who tore ligaments in his ankle in the middle of October, and WR/KR Nick Miller, an undrafted free agent rookie from Southern Utah.

Javon Walker and Greg Ellis will not likely play Sunday, for Javon Walker, it’s a hamstring issue that occured after a request to be released was ignored by the team. Ellis recently had sugery on both his shoulder and his knee, to drain some arthretic pain.

Ellis did practice on Friday and Tom Cable said he did about 40-50 percent of the drills and team activities. However, with Trevor Scott and rookie up and comer Matt Shaughnessy behind him on the depth chart, don’t expecet to see much of Greg Ellis on Sunday.

With the recent addition of William Joseph back to the Raiders roster, it will allow for Richard Seymour to remain outside more. While Joseph might not be the presence that Richard Seymour is to a defensive line, the combination of he, Tommy Kelly, Desmond Bryant, and Gerard Warren should be just as effective for the team until Ellis recooperates.

The Chiefs are minus some weapons this year that they have had over the previous two seasons. There is no Tony Gonzalez to cover. There is no Larry johnson or Priest Holmes for the run defense to worry about. And there is no Jared Allen for Mario Henderson to block.

Speaking of offense, the Raiders have four offensive starters coming back into the mix this week. That is 37.7 percent of there offense returning from injury.

I would like to think that the the team the Raiders are capable of being could beat this Chiefs team by 30 points. But, I’m going to be modest and say that this game will go tight for the first three quarters until Oaklnad pulls away late and wins 21-17.
