Tuesday in Concord, North Carolina outside Roush Fenway Racing owner, Jack Roush, members of the Ford North America Racing, and current Camping World Truck driver Colin Braun unveiled the new Ford Mustang COT.

Ford is the first manufacturer to unveil what the new car will look like. This is the first opportunity fans have had to see what the car looks like with a nameplate since the announcement of the new COT.

“This truly marks the start of the next era of Mustang racing,” said Brian Wolfe, director, Ford North America Motorsports. “We fully expect this Mustang, with drivers like Colin [Braun] behind the wheel, to start to enjoy the kind of success so many other Mustang racing programs have enjoyed throughout the last four decades.”

“Mustang is a proud and historic brand for Ford. This is a car born to race, and NASCAR is the next logical step for its racing pedigree.”

The Nationwide new car will roll out for four races starting in July at Daytona, and then run full time in 2011.

Along with the unveiling came the news that Braun would move to full time in the NASCAR Nationwide series in 2010. Braun will not be racing in the Camping World Truck series in 2010.

Coming with him is his current sponsor Con-way Freight, who signed on as a primary sponsor for the No. 16 in 2010.

“I’m so happy that Con-way Freight decided to move up with me to the Nationwide Series for 2010,” Braun said. “They have been a great sponsor for the past two years in the Truck series, so it means a lot to me that they will continue to support me in the future.”

Braun, 21 is a rising star in this sport after winning the Raybestos rookie of the year in 2008.

In 2009, Braun won his first race at Michigan and has six top fives and 11 top 10 finishes in 2009. Braun currently sits seventh in the standings.

“I’m also looking forward to driving a Mustang next year. I’ve always thought they are such incredible cars, but have never owned one. Maybe when I win my first race the guys at Ford will want to give me one of my own.”

Braun isn’t the only one looking forward to the new Mustang. The fans are excited to see what the new Ford Mustang COT can do in the next year.
