  • October 16th, 2009

The Pacers lead the Houston Rockets at home at halftime by a score of 71 to 51. The Pacers had built up a twenty point lead at the half, and Danny Granger currently leads all scorers with 22 points.

Troy Murphy has 12 and TJ Ford has chipped in 11. The Pacers starters tonight were the familiar names; Ford, Rush, Granger, Murphy, and Roy Hibbert at Center. Besides the starters, some other Pacers who have gotten some time on the court tonight include Foster, Head, Watson, McRoberts, and both Jones'. The Pacers last season had leads in the majority of their games, but failed to finish in the second half.

Tonight, even though it is a preseason game, we will see if the Pacers are able to make a push and fend off the...

The Pacers long trip of a lifetime has now come to an end, and they now set their sights back on Indianapolis. The Pacers fell in the second game over seas to the Nuggets early Sunday morning, 128 to 112.

Carmelo Anthony stole the show for the Nuggets after scoring 45 points in just 25 minutes of play. There wasn't a major area where the Pacers were out performed, in fact, most of the statistical areas were close to even.

The Pacers had just two more turnovers, three more fast break points, and only two less points in the paint than Denver had. Both teams shot 33.3 percent from three point distance, and the free throw shooting percentage was also very close.

The Nuggets shot slightly better than the Pacers overall, but like...

The Pacers got off to a great start in Taiwan, defeating the Nuggets by 22 points, but that was just the final score. The Pacers never trailed in the game Thursday, and knocked down and impressive 16 three-pointers.  They shot 53% from the floor, and out rebounded the Nuggets 52 to 40.  Although they turned the ball over 26 times, they managed to record 16 steals and 11 blocks. Troy Murphy and Brandon Rush each scored 20 points for the Blue and Gold, but the spotlight was on Roy Hibbert who also finished with 20 points and had 11 rebounds and 8 blocks. Brandon Rush, the other second year player, also put on a nice showing.

He scored 14 points in the second half to finish with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists,...

Pacers Preseason Recap

The Pacers opened up their preseason tonight with a game at home against the Chicago Bulls. The starting lineup for the Pacers was similar to what the projected lineup will be for most of the season. Ford, Rush, Granger, Foster, and Solomon Jones were the starters for Indiana. Travis Diener, Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy, Tyler Hansbrough, and Earl Watson all sat out this game due to injuries. The Bulls ended up winning the game, 104 to 95. The Pacers had four players scoring in double figures, led of course by Danny Granger who accounted for 27 of Indiana’s points. Luther Head added 14, Brandon Rush had 13, and Solomon Jones finished with 11 points. Ford and Granger combined for 12 of the Pacers’ 22 costly turnovers. On the positive side of things, Granger...

The Growth of The New Pacers

Young and full of talent, the Indiana Pacers look to place themselves back into the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Perhaps they are still rebounding from the Ron Artest debacle at the Palace, but the rebuilding that has gone on here in recent years is finally starting to look promising. First there was the ridding of wasted talent such as Artest, Jackson, and Tinsley. Now the filtration of young, mature players is all the rage in Indy. Looking at the projected starting lineup for the Pacers next season, there is new talent, veteran leadership, and youth. With Rush, Granger, and Hibbert running the show, the future is looking better each day for Indiana. Hansbrough (though still injured) has shown that he can adjust to the NBA game through the summer league games. Not only was he...
