After nine weeks of the NFL season the Bengals have probably been the biggest surprise of the 2009 season. Projected to be third in the AFC North and barely finishing with a winning record, the Bengals are performing at their highest level being on top the AFC North.
In the ESPN Week 10 Power Rankings the Bengals are ranked fourth in the NFL with divisional rival following close behind at the fifth spot.
This week is going to be an important game for Cincinnati who can take full control of the division with a season sweep over the Super Bowl Champs. Pittsburgh is coming off of a big Monday night win over the Broncos, but if it’s one thing that the Ravens seen is that the Broncos aren’t the Bengals.
The Bengals defeated the Ravens 17-7 after the previous week Baltimore ran all over the Denver Broncos, and now the Bengals have a chance to upset another team coming off of a big win against the Broncos.
The Bengals have proven that they can win against their AFC North foes, and it will take another hard fought battle to defeat them again.
As of right now the Bengals are in great position to make it to the playoffs, and with a win against the Steelers Sunday it will make it that much more in reach for this team.
The Bengals have been able to overcome adversity in many games this season, and they have confidence that even if they get down early they can fight back and win as they did in week three.
The Bengals will probably come into this game as an under dog, but anything can happen in a heated rivalry game. Both teams hate each other and it’s going to be a heavyweight match-up and it won’t be until the fourth quarter clock runs out that we will know who wins this game.
