RIP Kerr and Van Lier One year later
  • By Gibbs
  • February 26th, 2010

A year ago today the Chicago sports fans were shocked when we lost two all-time sports icons of the city in Norm Van Lier and Johnny "Red" Kerr. Anyone who was at the tribute on Febraury 10 to Kerr last season, that saw greats like MJ, Bob Love and Scottie Pippen come back to honor the first Bulls coach and longtime announcer knew that he was not long for this world.

Over the last few years before he retired from broadcasting he started to miss road trips and then sometimes wouldn't call play by play and only would contribute before the game and at half time.

To those who didn't know how sick he was it may have come as a shock to see him get rolled out onto the court in...

Deng leads Bulls over Pacers
  • By Gibbs
  • February 24th, 2010

Luol Deng came out firing scoring 11 of his 31 points in the first quarter.

Usually Deng going off big in the first quarter is a bad sign of things to come because he disappears the rest of the game, but not tonight.

Deng also had 9 rebounds to go along with his 4 blocks. The Bulls lead by 19 after the first and by as many as 23 at one point only to see that lead vanish after the Pacers hit 6 of 10 shots behind the arc during the second quarter.

Bulls managed to keep the lead and went into the half with a 58-54 lead.

They were able to extend their lead to 13 after three and held on to win 120-110 in a game they had to...

Tmac to Bulls?

  • February 24th, 2010

Could Tracy McGrady end up with the Bulls? If this does happen and McGrady could end up with the Bulls through a trade or maybe a buyout and signing. his arrival at O'Hare will be very different then greeting Jerry Krause had waiting for him nearly a decade ago. Back then there was a marching band and the Luv-a-Bulls waiting at the gate for him as he got off the plane. We all know the bad when it comes to TMac with the injuries and never making it out of the first round of the playoffs so there is no point in going over he has never played in all 82 regular season games and his career high is 79 back in the 99-00 season. But on this current Bulls team his...

Don't Trade Hinrich
  • By Gibbs
  • February 24th, 2010

The Bulls can't trade Kirk Hinrich. I know this may come as a shock to lots of people but trading Kirk would be a very bad move. Over his seven year career he has had his ups and downs, lately more downs.  During his first 4 years in the league his points per game increased each season while during the last 3 it has been a mixed bag. But Kirk does all the things you need a role player to do. He does all the little things and based on the team's recent play since he came back from injury and was inserted into the starting lineup speaks for itself. The team is 13-6 since he returned which includes the game they lost vs Golden State which he missed due to the...

Bulls Trade Salmons
  • By Gibbs
  • February 24th, 2010

John Salmons has been traded almost a year to the day of his arrival in Chicago to the Milwaukee Bucks fro the expiring contracts of Kurt Thomas and Fransico Elson. Salmons missed tonight game in New York. He was actually told by management to stay at the team hotel because a trade was close. Salmons will fill the hole at shooting guard for the Bucks that has been open since the lose of Michael Redd for the season. Salmons came to the Bulls last year at the trade deadline with Brad Miller from the Kings. With Salmons and his player option gone, the Bulls should have around 20 million in salary cap space this summer. John had averaged 12.5 points 2.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds for the Bulls while playing 33 minutes a...
