Chicago Blackhawks Sign Defenseman Ryan Stanton
- By Michael Wagner
- March 12th, 2010
According to the Daily Herald the Chicago Blackhawks have signed WHL defenseman Ryan Stanton to a three year entry level deal that will commence at the start of the 2010 season.
Stanton is currently playing in his fourth full season in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors where he has accumulated 102 points and 335 penalty minutes, he also currently leads all Moose Jaw defensemen with 40 points.
The biggest strength that Stanton possesses is his physicality and his ability to use his size to his advantage as he likes to throw his body around.
Stanton is also willing to drop the gloves to defend himself as he has fought five times this season with Moose Jaw.
With this signing the Blackhawks add another young defenseman to their minor league system with...

The Hawks continue to play on in the Olympics.
All six hawks have made it to the medal round.
Patrick Kane and Team USA will play Finland this afternoon while Team Canada with their three Hawks will play Slovakia and their two Blackhawks.
It is possible that all teams could medal but at the very least two of the three will be rejoining their teams with some new hardware.
Team USA plays at 2:00 Pm central time on NBC while Canda plays later on tonight at 8:30 central time on CNBC.
So far the Hawks players have had a mixed bag personally.
Towes, Keith and Hossa are playing very well.
All three have at least 5 assists each with Toews having 7 with Marian Hossa scoring the only 2 goals of that group....

All 6 of the Blackhawks have now played in 2 Olympics games So far Patrick Kane and team USA are 2-0. First game they won over Switzerland 3-1 with Patrick Kane having a quite game taking 4 shots on goal but not getting anything past the goalie and did not register an assist while staying even with a +/- of zero for the game. But game two was a different story. Game two also say him taking 4 shots but this time he did light the lamp getting a goal but again not getting any assists as team USA beat Norway 6-1. Team USA does not play again till Sunday vs Team Canada. So how about our neighbors to the North and Team Canada which has captain Jonathan Toews, who is wearing...
One Goal: Time for the Blackhawks to Replace Huet in Goal
- By Gibbs

After the Chicago Blackhawks’ first two games against the Florida Panthers, I made the argument that Antti Niemi should be the goaltender moving forward for Chicago. After Monday night’s comeback win, I think the case for Niemi is stronger, and has more backing from the fans, than ever before. I have attended each of the first two home games this year, and the reaction to Cristobal Huet during player introductions has been mixed at best. He’s earning less than a mixed reaction. Huet’s top shelf is so wide open it’s painful. He would have the worst glove in Chicago if the Cubs could trade Alfonso Soriano, and he drops to his knees faster than an intern in Bill Clinton’s White House. There are so many holes in Huet’s game you’d think he was...
Heart Attack Hawks Pull Off Stunning Comeback

History. On Opening Night, the Chicago Blackhawks brought out some of their greatest players and then gave fans a thrilling victory after the longest shoot out in the history of the organization. The entire evening was filled with both the great history of the franchise and the immense pressure of the present. Fast forward 48 hours to Monday night. Most history from the young Blackhawks at the expense of their fans’ blood pressure. It took five shots on goal and less than five minutes for starting goalie Cristobal Huet to find himself a warm seat in the locker room. Huet allowed three of those first five shots to reach the net, despite coach Joel Quenneville using his timeout after two. Quenneville saw enough, and made a change that a capacity crowd, of which I was...
