He was signed by the Heat almost immediately after being bought out. "tradebait" needs to be hyphenated, and you are asking a question in the title, therefore a question-mark is needed.

Thanks for the comments E.A. I've always liked Rondo even before his success. The Celtics would have been in serious trouble if they had not done this deal. Because unlike big baby, teams would line up to over pay him. Think Phoenix isn't kicking themselves for that draft night trade. The most important thing is that Rondo hasn't let the money affect his play.

To be honest, when I heard Rondo had rejected a deal in the $40 millions and was preparing to leave in free agency, I was hoping we would trade him because to me it didn't seem like he'd be here a lot longer.

But now that he's been resigned, I couldn't be happier. I love Rondo, he's already one of my favorite Celtics (right behind Pierce, KG, and Allen).

Nice article, Frances, and go Celtics!

i finally got this thing right. But I digress. After watching Shelden in the pre-season it is clear to see that while he has the acument, his wanderings in the NBA netherlands has left him a little bit indecisive.

Yeah, I was actually a little surprised to hear that Daniels was going to be the primary backup at point since it's really not his primary position. They gave Hudson a lot of time at the point last night and he looked ok. He made some decent plays, but made some mistakes as well. I'd still love to see him get some time there, though.

While he might be a good NBA player someday, I think Marquis Daniels will see most of the ball handling duties behind Rondo. Quise has proven to be an effective PG at times, though he is more of a SG/SF.

I agree, Eric. Keeping Powe would've been a really nice touch for this team and would've put the depth through the roof. However, the acquisitions and a healthy KG give them as much talent as any other team in the League, if not more. We'll see what Shelden Williams can do in Powe's absence. If he can step up his game and be a decent contributor, watch out. Thanks for reading!

Gotta agree...with adding Sheed and Daniels, this definitely gives the Celtics the depth and talent to win it all. The last addition we need is KG's clean bill of health, and the C's will be good to go. Although, this past offseason would have been 100% perfect had Leon Powe been retained. I know he's out half the year but he would be an awesome depth and defensive upgrade type move for the stretch/playoffs.
