The Details
There have been a number of people that probably deserve some amount of credit for what you see today at Fan Huddle. Fan Huddle is the result of actions that were taken long before the idea of Fan Huddle ever came to be. Back in 2006, I was running a fantasy baseball dynasty league by the name of MLB Front Office (a league of the same name can be found in operation today). Though the league was fairly short lived, it allowed me to meet a number of people to which I owe a great deal. One such person was Mike Kuchera of Fantasy Baseball Express. At this point, FBE was a relatively new operation and Mike was kind enough to allow a high school student to join his writing fray (though I’m not entirely sure that I keyed him in on my age until much later). Born out of the dynasty league, I began writing a fantasy baseball blog for FBE entitled MLB Front Office.
About a year later, I took my leave from Fantasy Baseball Express to expand the MLB Front Office blog and go out on my own. At this point I probably didn’t fully realize exactly what the consequences of doing that would be, and my work only fueled my addiction. With the help of a number of established figures—to Lenny Melnick I am forever grateful—MLB Front Office launched successfully in the fall of 2007. Under the parent company of Front Office Sports Enterprise, I later launched NHL Full Access and Major League Report. There was plenty of learning going on at this point, and the majority of it was from mistakes.
Friends will accuse me of having a number of issues, one of which is I’m always looking for something new and more interesting—nothing is ever good enough. Regardless of the reasoning behind it, MLB Front Office and the other Front Office Sports Network websites soon grew into something more. The result is what you see before you today: Fan Huddle.
Fan Huddle is truly Sports Media for the Fans. The combination of blogs, rankings, analysis, radio, columns, and more is unmatched across the internet. When Fan Huddle set out to recruit our staff, our intention was to find writers who had a track record of producing the highest quality content that the fan can relate to. Each of our bloggers also doubles as a fan of the team that they blog about. While major media sources may throw a fit over the conflict of interest, they’re also the ones who are going bankrupt every day. The future of media is in the hands of bloggers, we just hope to be a part of it.
At Fan Huddle we strive to be the premier source for sports media, information, and entertainment on the internet. With news and opinions for every team in the MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA and accompanying fantasy coverage, Fan Huddle is primed to be the only source you will need to keep up with the sports world.
Our general coverage section features some of the premier writers from the internet blogging, writing, and talking about every significant aspect of sports. Additionally, The U provides local opinions on college athletics. Live chats with our experts, extensive user interaction, power rankings, and more complete the most extensive sports coverage on the internet.
Our large fantasy sports section rivals that of all the best “fantasy sports only” websites around. With the best writers from across the internet and beyond, every aspect of the fantasy game is covered. Live radio, chats, rankings, and more complete our fantasy coverage.
The truth is, the media industry is in a period of uncertainty. Traditional print media outlets are struggling and attempting to redefine the way they present the news. Through the development of the internet, a wide array of news is now available at the click of a button. With the fall of traditional media sources, comes the rise of independent media. With this transition, however, come a couple of innate dangers. Most significantly, anybody can publish anything on the internet. The key to unlocking the future of the media industry is finding the balance between interactivity and reliability. At Fan Huddle you can be assured you are reading justified opinions and reliable news.
Front Office Sports Enterprise has always been dedicated to providing top notch news and advice with reliability and user interaction. Fan Huddle is the epitome of this idea. When you visit Fan Huddle you can be assured of the quality of the content you are reading. Just as importantly, perhaps, you can be assured that you are welcome in our community and that your voice is heard. We like to think of ourselves as the Cheers bar of sports media websites: where everybody knows your name.
From the Front Office to Your Office,
