Dat One Heckuva Game

Well, it seems I was both right and wrong in the way this game would go. You know me, always take some good out of my error. I was correct that the Colts would jump to an early lead.... I was correct that the Saints would have to play "catch up." That was about it. The Saints not only caught up, but passed up and beat up as well, the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, 31-17. The Colts started out strong, but killed themselves in crucial downs with moronic penalties. I began to flashback and for a moment I thought I was watching our Broncos from some of their games this year. But, I will take nothing away from the Saints. They did just as they have all year long. They played 4 quarters. The Colts were up 10-0...

It is fitting that people aren't really sure what to call the past decade. The Zeros, The Odds. Who knows except it is now over and we won't have to worry about it for another 90 years. I for one am trilled to see it go as the Bulls should be. With the teens comes potential thanks to some lucky ping pong balls bringing us Derrick Rose. Hopefully things go better this time around with the franchise corner stone then it is at the beginning of the last decade. But let's get to the to the point the all decade team for Da Bulls. I took a lot of things into account while putting this team together. 1. time with the team 2. production with the team 3. and finding pieces that...

A potential lineup change; an analysis of Bayless; Butler to Portland?
  • By Nick Poust

According to The Columbian's Brian T. Smith, " Trail Blazers head coach Nate McMillan said he is considering making changes to the team's starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Kevin Durant-led Oklahoma City Thunder." At the center of the shakeup would be Nicolas Batum, who would be inserted as the small forward, presumably moving Martell Webster to shooting guard and Jerryd Bayless to the bench. As Smith states in his column, "McMillan has hesitated to make Batum a starter since he returned to the lineup, mainly because Roy’s expected activation would have forced two major rotation changes before the break." But, now that Roy will be out through the All-Star break, Batum's insertion into the starting lineup makes complete sense. He has not only shown off a improved jump-shot since...

Broncos/Chiefs Matchup: The Final Game?

And so it comes to this, the 16th game of the season and possibly, the last one for the gun shy Denver Broncos. What a ride it's been. I remember saying that at the beginning of the season, before a down was played, that regardless as to how the Broncos do, I will always look back at the season and say "What a ride it's been." So it comes to this final game, pitting the Denver Broncos (8-7) against our divisional nemesis, the Kansas City Chiefs (3-14), at Invesco Field, in Mile High. Did I mention that these are exactly the kind of games that worry me?  That these are the types of games that Denver "should" win, but many times, simply look too far ahead and miss the target? Denver needs to win this game. No...

Tmac to Bulls?

Could Tracy McGrady end up with the Bulls? If this does happen and McGrady could end up with the Bulls through a trade or maybe a buyout and signing. his arrival at O'Hare will be very different then greeting Jerry Krause had waiting for him nearly a decade ago. Back then there was a marching band and the Luv-a-Bulls waiting at the gate for him as he got off the plane. We all know the bad when it comes to TMac with the injuries and never making it out of the first round of the playoffs so there is no point in going over he has never played in all 82 regular season games and his career high is 79 back in the 99-00 season. But on this current Bulls team his...

If happy and given his privacy, Andre Miller can take Blazers to the next level
  • By Nick Poust

Steve Blake was serviceable last season, but the Portland Trail Blazers wanted more out of the point guard spot. Small forward and free agent Hedo Turkoglu was targeted, with the idea of playing him as a point guard in certain offensive sets, but after he spurned them in negotiations and signed with the Toronto Raptors, General Manager Kevin Pritchard shifted his attention to a more traditional option, Andre Miller, a 34-year old unrestricted free-agent who was coming off a stellar season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Many followers of the Blazers pegged Miller as too old, and would have rather seen the team go after a younger point guard, such as 23-year old Ramon Sessions. But Portland wasn't looking for another young player; they already had too many of those. They felt...
